”Anonymous Soldiers,” the anthem of the ’’Shtern gang,” an anti-British extreme Jewish underground which operated in the forties, is translated to French with spelling mistakes. The text is recited by the father and mother of the artist, who are not familiar with it and are trying to please their son who came for a visit. The recitation is interrupted by their corrections of the spelling, the mother insisting on giving her son something to eat, other sounds and oriental rhythms. ’Anonymous Soldier’ is a visual and audio deconstruction and dismantling of an old underground anthem.
