Conversations with Abed El-Wadood; Chapters 1, 2 and 3
Haim Ben Shitrit

A Video Triptych. Abed El-Wadood is a tragic comic character from the Syrian movie “The Borders,” from the early eighties. The piece is compiled from various modes of ’touch’ and ’communication,’ for example, analogous implanting of personal biographic details, while intermittently inserting them into the story of Abed El-Wadood. Digital manipulation is also employed; it uses various images from the seventies and onwards to include his recent allocation as a popular host of a Lebanese television show.

An improvised (virtual) meeting between Abed El-Wadood and Georges Brassens in his song ’The Gorilla.’

Curators: Galit Eilat, Eyal Danon
Opening Date: 06.12.03 | 20:00
Duration: 28.02.04 - 06.12.03

Editing: Ricardo Rojstaczer
