A group of youths will play a peculiar game: some of the group members will play government agents – policemen or soldiers – trying to separate a group of other players holding each other and trying to stay together. The game is a reconstruction or imitation of familiar images of evacuating settlements or demonstrations by state authorities and the resistance of the people being evacuated. The images penetrated the public consciousness in particular after Israel’s withdrawal from the Gaza Strip in August 2005.
