The workshop Composed Identities will be presented by the artistic team of the new Dutch opera production, Yasser, based on the play by the Moroccan-Dutch author Abdelkader Benali and composed by Israeli composer Guy Harries. The opera deals with the inner conflicts of a Palestinian actor living in the Netherlands: his life as an immigrant in a different culture, his love for a Dutch actress, and his home country. Inspired by the themes of the opera, the creative team introduces aspects of their work and their method of combining cultural influences, socially relevant subjects in art, live electronics, and opera. Ilonka van den Bercken: cello \ Guy Harries: composer, performer Sabri Saad El-Hamus: actor \ Conny de Vugt: video artist
