Morowati, Hindman and Kiser are artists and designers who develop spatial audio experiences and are interested in augmenting human perceptions of space and play. Morowati is a designer, researcher, concert producer and award-winning filmmaker. Hindman is a guitarist, musician and alternative video game interfacer. Kiser is a sound artist and interface designer. Sonic Body Pong is based on Atari’s classic video game Pong - without the screen. You play it solely using your sense of hearing to detect where the ball is and you use your body as the paddle to hit it. The ball is experienced by the players purely through sound - a spatially accurate soundscape which is determined by both the orientation of their heads and their position on the court. They must determine where to move their body based on the sound of the approaching ball.
