Between the 16th – 18th of December, the old Center of Holon will be sonically intercepted by a cast of local and International artists. From 15:00 – 20:00 each day, the streets, shops, passageways, squares, emergency sound systems and gymnasiums of Holon will be animated by sound interventions and performances. Maya Dunietz amplifies a meat market in Weizman Square, Cathy van Eck wanders the city with sirens, Marcus Coates performs a series of rituals based on ancient shamanistic traditions, and Michal Rothschild, Michal Rinott, and Leor Weinstein provide a laughing swing for the public, among other projects. And all the while, the old center will be tuned to the antennae of Edwin van der Heide, to be intercepted by individual receivers. The public interventions offer an element of urban play, altered navigation, and the familiar made unfamiliar.
