As part of the exhibition Where To? the Israeli Center for Digital Art is featuring a unique project by Doron Tavori & Yochai Avrahami, that describes the life of Laurence Oliphant.
In the Land of Gilead will be performed during 2 days:
Friday, June 22nd 10:00-16:30
Saturday, June 23rd 11:00-18:30
Inspired by the 24 chapters of Homerus’ Odyssey (for this is also a story about a journey), the work is divided to 24 chapters from different periods, narrated by different characters. The Chapters are built out of authentic texts, located and gathered during a long period of research. They are performed by actors and screened on a video screen. Most of the texts are taken from books, letters and articles written by Oliphant himself, but some of them are texts by others, related to him. Out of these Oliphant’s life story is being revealed, as well as his spiritual world.
The first ten episodes, in which Oliphant himself speaks, are performed by Nimrod Bergman. The rest of the episodes are each performed by a different actor and were filmed in advance. They will be screened on a video screen.
Participating actors: Nimrod Bergman, Yigal Naor, Micha Selektar, Gil Frank, Itay Tiran, Maya Dagan, Eran Mor, Doron Tavori, Yitzhak Hizkia, Rami Hoyberger, Dan Shapira, Ollie Danon, Ola Schur Selektar, Michael Kfir.
Entrance is free of Admission!
