Slovenian artist Urška Savič (1992) graduated at the Film and Tv School (FAMU) of Academy of performing Arts in Prague in the Department of Photography (2014). She lives between Ljubljana and Prague.
Savič focuses mainly on black and white pictures and the darkroom process. The various techniques of bookbinding interest her, therefore the final outcomes of her work are often self produced books and Funzines. She uses also the collage technique and experiments with animation, video and the silk-screen process.
During her residency, she collaborated with the young local artists from Jerusalem and together they made a two days performance in an abandoned villa in the middle of the city. The documentation of their site-specific improvisation was presented in the exhibition form at the Israeli Centre for Digital Art. The final outcome of the project titled »Presence« is therefore a merge between photographs, videos and sound.
Her residency was a part of a collaboration with Tobačna 001 Cultural Center run by the National museum and City galleries of Ljubljana.
