The work documents a unique site, on the outskirts of Tel Aviv, in a swampy dumping ground adjacent to a highway, lays a forgotten forest dedicated to Esther. Like in a twisted fairytale a man comes here, unseen, and leaves his poems on the trees.  The woods cry out a story to be told, but only strange, sometimes violent love poems are to be seen. In her video, Miri Nishri has given him a voice, disembodied, haunting. He recites not love poems but blunt poems of an obsessive aggression. 

 

Miri Nishri made this movie because the place itself and the mere power and aggression of the love it holds within it, fascinated her and kept calling her back to this site of love and sickness, to feel the helplessness of a woman victimized by such an obsession – walking these woods made her feel like Esther, a persona spilt into several egos, hiding in the bushes.
