’Economy of Excess’ is a filmed excursion inside a sewage pipe system in Essex.  The footage was shot by a small robot camera, which is normally used to locate blockages.  The camera travels into an ever-expanding circle of sewer pipes, where the journey mutates into a hypnotizing voyage of impressionistic colour and light.  This entrancing journey epitomizes the way in which the work continually straddles the line between the sublime and the mundane.
