rly Aviv's video "Dancing in the snow" was taken while I was driving from Austria to swiss. Close to the border, I noticed a roundabout with a few huge wood figurative sculptures. I took a few video clips while driving around and around, watching them standing high and brown on the white snow. I remembered William Shakespeare's words: " All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players: they have their exits and their entrances, And one man in his time plays many parts..." I thought about those statues in relation to their space and location and thought about the migration movement. People move to another country but however in their new one, they “cut” and “paste” from their hometown and former life.
