“Princeless Ever After” was featured in an exhibition about fantasies.  It is a surreal account of a young girl’s passions, so intense that they border on the grotesque.  Dancing with a virtual man in androgynous attire and a ridiculously oversized wig, she weaves her daydream with such conviction that she herself is swept away by it.  The docile minuet transforms into a violent waltz, a frightening obsession almost, and she collapses breathless in the corner.

Edry says, "I have provided here a glimpse into the tumultuous world of a young girl on the verge of womanhood; yet it is also an analogy to my internal world as an artist, the never-ending encounter, even struggle, with the self conducted in front of an ever-present yet invisible audience."

And the “Sound of Music” soundtrack, as well as the baroque-style costumes – elements completely foreign to Israeli culture – serve as hints of the duality within me, reminders of my unforgettable childhood and adolescence spent in Britain.
