The CDA's archives are operating with the support of the Ostrovsky Family Fund and Artis
A series of meetings will be held at the Center, toward an exhibition expected to open in September. The meetings will host artists and researchers occupying different aspects of history’s presence and historical writing in contemporary art. The project examines questions regarding historical truth and fabrication, forgery and the historical narrative.
The next open meeting will take place on Thursday, April 25th, at 17:00, in which Guy Fitoussi, graduate of the archeology department of the faculty of Bible and ancient east in Ben-Gurion University; A supervisor in the Antiquities Robbery Prevention Unit of Israel Antiquities Authority.
The lecture will deal with antiquities robbery, the local and global market of antiquities, and with forgery of antiquities. The various implications and meanings of the forgery phenomenon will be discussed, and aspects related to it will be presented – history, archeology, art and law. Cases of forgery and forged items from the last few years will be also presented during the lecture.
The lecture will be in Hebrew and is open to the public.
