The project is supported by Mifal Hapais Arts and Culture Council.

A community garden has been in place at the Digital Art Center compound since January 2013. It is a vegetable garden, an attempt to combine aesthetic gardening and horticulture, as well as to create a community involved in raising crops and tending to the plants. It is also intended to raise the neighborhood’s awareness of issues related to consumerism, nutrition, urban agriculture and community.

On the one hand, the garden is a piece of land dedicated to cultivation and vegetable farming, and on the other a green park for outdoor activities, meetings, gardening and creative work. The garden is ecological-organic, with no chemicals or pesticides of any kind.

Garden activities are facilitated by a community gardening consultant with the Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel.

The garden is cultivated by a group of children from the "Geonim" Afternoon Club, also located in the compound, and a group of senior citizens of Ethiopian descent, from the Lazarus Community Center, guided by Bat Sheva Mutza.

In the future, we intend to expand the garden and invite other community groups to take part in cultivating it.

In December 2013, we held a workshop in the garden, facilitated by Matan Fayans, owner of theYarok (Green) organic plant nursery. The workshop will teach community members how to raise vegetables in their homes and increase their awareness of organic agriculture, healthy nutrition and green environment.
