Weaving and sensors workshop seeked to bring together the world of textile and handwork and the world of wearable computers. Combining these two worlds -- ancient and cutting-edge technologies -- is challenging and leads to fascinating results. Participants got exposed to the area of wearable computers, became familiar with electronic components developed especially for embedding in textiles and learned the techniques unique to this area. They created a variety of creative works combining electronics in textiles. This workshop enabled local residents from different backgrounds to return to obsolescent traditions of sewing, weaving and handwork in the present context, using state-of-the-art tools.
