The camera focuses on a duo of singers during their enthusiastic rendition of an old Israeli folksong. Their appearance, attire, and heavy Russian accent reveal instantly that they are not native-born Israelis. The reason for their fervor is not obvious, and raises questions regarding their identity and role in Israel. Are they new immigrants? Are they here temporarily before moving on to another country? Who are these people, with their foreign accents, singing with such joy and authenticity: "…This is my only homeland….". The artist touches on a raw social point, that of the immigration wave from the former Soviet Union, and its major impact and incorporation into our lives, in Israel's culture and society.
