You are cordially invited to presentations & conversation with Practice-Based PhD fellows from the University of Arts, Hamburg (HFBK)

and Prof. Hanne Loreck

Wednesday, 30.05.18, 15:00-19:00
each presentation approx. 20-30 min

Ofri Lapid

"A tempered origin"- on the multiplicity of origins of Amazonian designs, loops and entanglements of ethnographic accounts. From the archive to fieldwork and back.

Anna Bromley

"Hypo-presenting" - Proceeding from her radio works "Laugh of the Hyposubject" (2017, with Brandon LaBelle), "The No Play Radio Play" (2016,with the No Play Work Group), and her ongoing project "Lüftung" at nGbK Berlin, the presentation revolves around interweaving radio-presenting with non-fiction fictions (Capote) in the frame of speaking, writing and listening in non-hierarchical groups. Plus, on the potentiality of getting/becoming silly and thus "hypo" with/in these frameworks.

Katrin Mayer & Eske Schlüters

„time to sync or to swim“ - On modes of collaboration between artistic, theoretical and curatorial practices emanating from their installative work "time to sync or swim" that deals with narrations of perception, topology, identity and gender.

Joke Janssen & Anna Tautfest

„Collective Research Mass“ - A conversation about the abstract body and how it comes to matter, about grids and pitch, about flickering, foreground-background-relations and the slowness of transformation.
Based on our exhibition “Collective Research Mass”
approx.

Anika Bartens & Wiebke Schwarzhans

„(Re)Doing Ceramics. Thinking with and about Porcelain“ - Our discussion will address questions of fragility, deformation, soft spots and temporality.
We will talk about patience and collaboration with the material, discussing the processes from touching the base material to minding the resistance of ceramics in the making. For us, this implies a multi-sensory investigation of the genderedness of materials and practices.

Arne Bunk

"We can see his face, but we cannot, as it were, have it." Video-lecture.
The Videoessay follows the film „A day in the life of a casual harbor worker".
The writer Hubert Fichte and the photographer Leonore Mau completed it in 1966.
The character of the harbor worker is conceived as someone who does not quite fit in.

Birgit Schlieps

Visual cartography of urban space and Fluids
Pictorial phenomena of a city in the Kazakh steppe and public space in Berlin.
