In the coming Passover vacation, on March 26-28, a special series of parent-and-child workshop will take place at Max Machines and Crafts.
One of the main characteristics of the Ten Plagues of Egypt is replication and multiplication. One frog is cute, a drop of blood is nothing to write home about, but when they multiply and reach massive quantities – that’s a whole different ball game.
The workshops will deal with the motif of replication and multiplication in the Plagues of Egypt using different techniques and subjects. The children will create a personal graphic image of an animal, shape or idea, and replicate it to produce several outputs using techniques and technologies available at Max.
Stamp Box
Participants will experience the use of stamp technique. Each participant will design her or his own image or logo and create a stamp using laser cutting. Subsequently, the stamp will be used to design a wooden box on wheels, also created out of parts cut with a laser-cutting machine.
Monday, March 26, 2018, 10:00-12:30. Suitable for children aged eight and above, with an adult.
Cost per child: 60 NIS.
Personally Designed Handbag
Using silkscreen printing, the participants will draw and design an image based on one of the Ten Plagues of Egypt and then print it on a cloth handbag as well as on a wooden surface, to produce a drawing and a bag they would be able to take home.
Tuesday, March 27, 2018, 10:00-12:30. Suitable for children aged eight and above, with an adult. Duration: two and a half hours. Cost per child: 60 NIS.
Sticker Set
The participants will make a drawing and turn it into a file, which they could then replicate and use the plotter machine to produce a set of personally designed stickers for the bedroom wall, the desk, the smartphone – you name it!
Wednesday, March 28, 2018, 10:00-12:30. Suitable for children aged eight and above, with an adult. Duration: two and a half hours. Cost per child: 60 NIS.
Max Machines and Crafts is a workshop operated by the Israeli Center for Digital Art that combines art with mechanic motion mechanisms and digital means of production: 3D printers, a CNC milling machine, and a laser-cutting machine. It is a place for brainstorming, development, creation, and craft that enables each one of us to find the artist within her/him.
The workshop allows everyone to turn artistic ideas into products by producing almost anything and benefitting from the freedom afforded by 21st-century technology.
Due to limited vacancy, prior registration is required, at
