The workshop focuses on the subject of “secret”, especially in art and design. Art reveals some things to us and conceals others; the artist can decide what to reveal and what he chooses not to. The students will think of a particular story or secret they would like to reveal, and by means of a technical mechanism and laser cutting they will choose what to reveal to the group, and what not to. The students will work with a technical mechanism that enables exposure and concealment; they will learn how to transform their idea into an artwork in motion.

The Workshop

Explanation on the workshop, the work process, and development of the concept of the “cabinet of curiosities” in a discussion and through presentation of artworks.

Developing the idea and how to address the concept of “secret” by means of drawing, collage, and writing.

Creating the connection between the mechanism and the idea.
