“New Jerusalem” is a bureaucratic performance based on Jerusalem’s urban Master Plan, 2000.
It was performed during Jerusalem city council’s ceremonial toast.
Composer Ellie Jaffe composed the piece for a vocalist, Cantor Dov Heller, and a string quartet, made up of Gabriel Shuraki, Eyal Heyman, Hanan Levin, and Gal Epstein. The piece is initiated by Tali Keren as part of her residency as a guest artist at the city’s Planning Department.
