Relief is an ancient artistic technique and often placed over triumphal arches and victory columns; they document events in sequential scenes, much like cinematic frames and frequently commemorate historical or mythical images of hunting, war and siege, emphasizing the heroic might of victors as opposed to their enemies’ fall. 

In Low Relief, Bartana applies a low relief filter to images of a demonstration, and continues her preoccupation with ritualistic characteristics of Israeli norms and culture.
