Throughout his work, George Dupin deals with shanty towns, borders, fluxes, movements, scales, communities, countries and landscapes as traces of identity. He examines nations as institutional entities of citizenship and the presence of human traces.
At the heart of his work in Actualities No5 are a ’plan’ with multiple ramifications, views of luxury stores, vague and minimalist white cubes mimicking the aesthetics of art places – a true counterpoint of an exaggerated theatrical show where commercial products are kings.
