Nir Evron was born in 1974 in Herzelia and lives and works in Tel Aviv, Israel. Evron works in photography, video and film. In his works Evron explores the different layers in distant as well as recent history, examining its presence in everyday life as manifested in objects, landscapes, language and architecture.
Evron is an MFA graduate of the Slade School of Fine Art, London, BFA graduate from Bezalel Academy for Art, Jerusalem (where he currently teaches in the photography department) and a former student at the Ecole Nationale Superieure Des Beaux-Arts, Paris. Evron exhibited solo shows in The Artists’ Studios Gallery, Tel Aviv and the Herzelia Museum of Contemporary Art, both in Israel and participated in Group exhibitions and screenings throughout the world in locations such as BWA Gallery, Zielona Gora, Poland, MARCO Vigo & CAAC Seville, Spain, Studio 27, San Francisco, Diorama Gallery and Ols&Co Gallery, London, Gallerie Davide Gallo, Berlin and film festivals in Ghent, Belgium, Athens, Greece and VideoZone 3, The International Video-Art Biennial in Tel Aviv.
Evron will be premiering ’Echo’ in the coming Berlin Biennale, curated by Kathrin Rhomberg.
