Mograbi, Avi

Avi Mograbi is an Israeli documentary filmmaker born in 1956. Mograbi studied philosophy at Tel Aviv University from 1979 to 1982, and art at Ramat Hasharon Art School. His films are often experimental in form and resemble participatory documentaries, in that Mograbi is not only part of his films, but situations in the film are affected and altered by his presence. His works are highly critical of Israel’s military, domestic policy and treatment of the Palestinian people.

His recent film Avenge But One of My Two Eyes premiered at the 2005 Cannes Film Festival.
